01 · Who we are

Invisible Tutorials, by Degreed AI Labs.

Invisible Tutorials is a Chrome extension built by Degreed AI Labs, the team behind Invisible (invisible.work). It turns any web app into a live, hands-on tutorial: you state a goal, and it highlights what to click, step by step, on the real page in front of you.

When this policy says "we" or "us," it means the Invisible Tutorials extension and the processing service behind it, operated by Degreed AI Labs. You can reach the team responsible for privacy at ai@invisible.work.

02 · Scope

What this policy covers.

This policy covers two things, and only two things:

• The Invisible Tutorials Chrome extension — everything it reads, stores, and sends while you use it.
• Our processing service — the proxy we operate on Cloudflare Workers that receives the extension's requests, forwards them to AI providers, and returns the response.

The extension requires no account and connects to no other Invisible service. This policy therefore does not cover the invisible.work website or other Invisible products — those are separate services. It also does not cover the third-party web apps and AI tools the extension guides you through (for example Gmail or Claude themselves); those have their own privacy policies, and using the extension on them sends nothing to those companies beyond what you do in their product yourself.

03 · Collection

Information we collect.

While a tutorial is running

The goal you typed, the page's URL and title, and a text outline of the current page (an accessibility-tree snapshot) — with passwords, one-time codes, and payment fields removed on your device first. The extension also watches clicks and typing activity on the guided page, only to know when a step is complete. Nothing is read when no tutorial is active.

When prompt coaching is on

On five supported AI tools (Claude, Google AI Studio, Bolt, Lovable, and Replit), coaching is on by default: as you draft a prompt, the draft text and which tool you are using are sent to our processing service to generate hints. Questions you ask in the panel's Ask tab are sent the same way — along with the page outline, if you have switched on page view for that conversation. One click turns coaching off per tool; when it is off, nothing is watched and nothing is sent.

When you use voice or import features

If you speak instead of type, your microphone recording is sent to our processing service for transcription. If you ask for a tutorial built from the current page, that page's full text is sent once to build it. If you ask for a tutorial built from a video, the YouTube link you provide is sent.

Settings, on your device

Your preferences — voice guidance, per-tool coaching opt-outs, cached coaching configuration — live in your browser's extension storage and stay there. Requests to our processing service carry a randomly generated installation identifier used for rate-limiting and abuse prevention; it is not derived from, or linked to, anything about you.

What we never collect

The extension has no account and no sign-in. We never collect your name, your email address, your contacts, or your browsing history.

04 · Use

How we use it.

• To guide you. The page snapshot and your goal are what the next instruction is computed from. This is the core of the product.
• To coach your prompts. Draft text becomes a concrete hint about how to make the prompt better, plus tool-specific answers to your questions.
• To speak and listen. Instructions are turned into audio, and your voice input is turned into text, when you use those features.
• To run the service. Rate-limiting, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, and security — the unglamorous work of keeping the extension dependable.

05 · AI

How AI processing works.

Invisible Tutorials is AI-powered. Page snapshots, goals, draft prompts, questions, and voice audio are processed by AI models to generate guidance. Every request routes through a single proxy service we operate on Cloudflare Workers, which forwards it to the model provider and returns the response — the extension never talks to AI providers directly. Behind the proxy we use established providers under commercial terms: Anthropic (Claude) for guidance and prompt coaching, Google (Gemini) for planning and research, ElevenLabs for voice synthesis and transcription, and Perplexity for search-grounded research when building tutorial knowledge.

Three things matter here:

• AI providers process your content to generate a response to you. Under our commercial agreements, they do not use it to train their models.
• We do not use your data to train foundation models either.
• Each request carries only what the active feature needs. There is no background collection: outside an active tutorial, the only thing the extension reads is the prompt box on the five supported AI tools when coaching is on — and you can turn that off per tool.

06 · Guarantees

The rules the extension is held to.

Because an extension can see the pages you use it on, we hold Invisible Tutorials to the strictest rules in this policy — and we put the important ones in code, not just in writing.

How this maps to our Chrome Web Store disclosures

• "Website content" is the sanitized page-structure snapshot and, for the page-import feature, the page text — described in section 03.
• "User activity" is the clicks and typing on the guided page that mark a step complete, and the draft prompts prompt coaching evaluates.
• We declare no personal information category, because the extension collects none: there is no account, no sign-in, and no name or email anywhere in the product.

What never leaves your device

• Passwords, one-time codes, and payment card fields are stripped from snapshots on your device, before anything is transmitted. This redaction is enforced in the extension's code.
• Session recordings (an optional debugging feature) live only in memory while the side panel is open and are saved only if you export them yourself.
• Your settings and per-tool coaching choices live in extension storage and are never synced anywhere.

What it never does

• It does not act on pages for you — no clicking, no typing — unless you explicitly turn on assisted mode. Guidance-only is the default, enforced in code.
• It does not track your browsing history. Outside an active tutorial, the only thing it reads is the prompt box on the five supported AI tools when prompt coaching is on — and you can turn that off per tool.
• It requires no account and no sign-in of any kind — no Google sign-in, no Invisible sign-in, nothing. Install it and use it.
• It handles no payments. There is nothing to buy inside the extension.

The extension's use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: data obtained through the extension is used only to provide and improve the guidance features you see, never for advertising, never for sale, and never for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose.

07 · Limits

What we don't do.

• We do not sell or rent your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
• We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers or ad networks.
• We do not use your data to train foundation AI models.
• We do not use your information to determine creditworthiness or for lending, insurance, or employment-screening purposes.
• We do not collect your browsing history, and outside an active tutorial the extension reads nothing but the prompt box on supported AI tools when prompt coaching is on — which you can turn off per tool.

08 · Sharing

When information is shared.

We share information only in the narrow cases it takes to run the service:

• Service providers. A small set of vendors process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to exactly that: Cloudflare (runs the proxy that every request routes through), Anthropic (Claude, for guidance and prompt coaching), Google (Gemini, for planning and research), ElevenLabs (voice synthesis and transcription, when you use voice features), and Perplexity (search-grounded research, when tutorial knowledge is built). A maintained subprocessor list, with each vendor's terms and trust documentation, is being published as part of our customer security documentation.
• Legal requirements. If the law genuinely requires it, we comply — and where permitted, we tell you first.
• Business continuity. If Invisible Tutorials is ever part of a merger or acquisition, this policy continues to protect your information, and we will notify you of any change in who is responsible for it.

09 · Retention

Retention and deletion.

Almost everything lives in your browser, not with us: settings, per-tool coaching choices, and cached configuration sit in extension storage and are removed when you uninstall the extension. Session recordings live only in memory and vanish when the panel closes unless you export them yourself.

Requests to our processing service are handled to return a response — we do not build server-side profiles of extension users. Operational logs used for security and rate-limiting are kept short-lived; we are documenting exact proxy-side retention windows as part of our security documentation and will update this section with specifics.

10 · Security

How we protect it.

• Data is encrypted in transit.
• Access inside the team is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service.
• Sensitive-field redaction happens before transmission, on your device — the most private things on a page never reach us at all.
• No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires — and as plainly as we can.

11 · Rights

Your rights.

Wherever you are, you can ask us to:

• Show you the information we hold about you — for this extension, most of it lives in your browser rather than with us.
• Correct it if it is wrong.
• Delete it, subject to any legal-retention minimum.
• Export it in a usable format.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), some of these are formal legal rights with formal timelines, and you may also have the right to object to certain processing or to complain to a supervisory authority. Email ai@invisible.work and we will honor both the letter and the spirit.

12 · Children

Not for children.

Invisible Tutorials is a workplace tool. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

13 · Changes

Changes to this policy.

When we change this policy, we update it here and revise the date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects what we collect or how we use it, we will tell you directly — on this page and in the extension — before it takes effect.
